I started in front of a blackboard — eight years as a chemistry faculty member and HOD across Narayana, Brilliant Tutorials, Career Launcher, Bansal Classes and Aakash. Students I mentored directly took AIR 1 in both JEE and AIPMT. That grounding never left: every business I have built since is judged first on whether the student learns.
The second half of my career has been about ownership. I built India's first satellite-based VSAT hybrid learning programme from concept to 12 centres. When that programme was shut down, I acquired the master franchise rights, founded UVA Institute, and rebuilt it independently — 10 to 84 centres and 1,500 to 28,600 students in twelve months, ₹20 Cr+ in revenue, and a profitable exit.
At Aakash I ran two national digital businesses as an internal business-unit leader, including a live-class TV channel on Airtel DTH delivered in two months and scaled to a lakh of paying subscribers. Today I am the founding leader at Sparsh Academy, building a new EdTech venture from zero, and I own the IP for an AI-powered future-pathway assessment platform for grades 6–12.
Alongside the work, I am a PhD scholar at IIM Sambalpur — twenty-seven years in, still a student of the thing I do. Career choices have consistently prioritised ownership and scope over title.
